 The Galvladi Mountain Inn is situated just 45 minutes west of Asheville, N.C.. The Inn sports 5 luxurious rooms, inviting common areas, including an elegant Great Room with soaring rock fireplace, sunny solarium, a cozy library, a romantic dining room, charming outdoor and screened porches, and a full workout facility. Many rooms are equipped with large soaking tubs after which you can enjoy a relaxing massage by a professional masseur or massuesse. We call it a b&b on steroids - your room includes not just breakfast, but 3 meals per day. Park the car; leave it! Perched atop 250 acres of protected Great Smoky Mountains forestland, and surrounded by an additional 1500 acres of public property, it is perfectly suited to long, strenuous hikes, with more than 2500 feet of elevation change, or a casual walk on well marked trails. You will observe waterfalls, and forest fauna, and you may catch a glimpse of one of many native wildlife species. The area is a treasure trove of hardwood trees, colorful mountain laurel, splendid wildflowers , and a wide assortment of wildlife - from bear to hummingbirds. The views, with the changing backdrop of the seasons, are spectacular any time of year. At 4000 feet elevation, summer days are warm and the nights are cool. Spring and Fall are sensual explosions of color and aroma. The historic relocation of the Cherokee Nation - The Trail of Tears -began in Western North Carolina. The word "galvladi" is the Cherokee word meaning "heaven". This Cherokee word signifies our intent to preserve and protect the property with the same respect as did the Cherokee people, and others who called this wonderful place their home.
